Foxy Loxy Back to Top

Tacos and coffee? What the what? They're what's cooking at Foxy Loxy, a funky cool little coffee joint on Bull Street in an area called SoFo (that's south of Forsyth Park for those curious). They feature espresso, craft brews, wine, Tex-Mex, and desserts. They also have lots of art on the walls available for purchase, and artist receptions every month. But wait a second. Did you say Coffee and tacos? Yes, that's right. And there's a good reason for it, as owner Jennifer Jenkins explains. But you'll have to watch the video to find out why.

Back in the Day Bakery Back to Top

One of the biggest trends happening the last few years have been cupcakes. (Yay!) And one of the best places in Savannah to get cupcakes is at Back in the Day Bakery on Bull Street. Owned by Cheryl and Griff Day, this mom-and-pop establishment began their dream with a "binder full of heirloom family recipes" and they've been making their own made-from-scratch sweets ever since. Even Paula Deen has discovered them and featured them on her show. Oh, and they make awesome sandwiches for lunch too.

And wait, breaking news! They have just been named semi-finalists for this year’s James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Baker for 2015. They also have an award-winning cookbook, "The Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook," and a new one coming out soon - "Back in the Day Bakery: Made with Love."
