Asbury Memorial's 6th Annual Pecan and Honey Harvest

This popular annual event began with the donation of South Georgia pecans from a church member and has grown every year. The Pecan and Honey Harvest includes a general store for the sale of shelled pecans, fresh baked pecan-themed desserts and candy, beverages and local honey as well as live entertainment and a café. The harvest is made possible by a team of helpful volunteers at Asbury, including committee chair Bill Jahn, who are dedicating their time and talent to the event, as they have in years past.

Old Savannah Tours will be participating by sharing information about the Pecan and Honey Harvest with guests using their trolleys on November 23rd and encouraging people to hop off at their trolley stop at Madison Square, take a break and enjoy the Harvest. Asbury’s famous clown dolls will be on display and available for purchase. The dolls, which are sold around the world, are made by Asbury’s “Busy Bees” group and were originally made for fellowship, but later helped keep the church running with the profits made. The honey is harvested from Asbury’s “heavenly” bees, who invaded the church in 2011 and whose hives now provide the honey.
