Between touring historic homes, conquering all 22 squares and shopping at some of the finest businesses in the South, it can be difficult to squeeze in every Savannah activity into one stay.

That’s why the Savannah Lodging properties (Holiday Inn Express Savannah Historic District and the Hampton Inn Savannah-Historic District) host the Local Lobby, a tri-weekly lobby event in which the business owners come to the hotel to set up shop and showcase their items.

In the Local Lobby, you can shop Savannah goods, sample cuisine from local restaurants and get to know the faces behind the businesses without leaving the hotel. The Local Lobby is your chance to get a great last-minute gift, learn more about a particular tour or plan your next meal thanks to a delicious sample.

Savannah Lodging aims for their properties to be more than just a place to stay, so they began the Local Lobby to create an enhanced and exclusive experience for guests while also showing love to the businesses that make Savannah so wonderful.

“We’re proud to offer up our living rooms to help local businesses showcase their products to an audience who may not get the opportunity to visit their shops and stores,” says Mark Dana, managing partner for Savannah Lodging properties. “The Local Lobby is just one more way for Savannah Lodging to help our local small businesses in a community we love so much.”

You’ll see all sorts of local makers and business owners showcasing their goods. Frequent guests of the Local Lobby include Ghost Coast Distillery, Savannah’s first distillery since before Prohibition; the Salt Table, a specialty food store that carries its own line of salts, spices, oils and vinegars; and 13 Secrets Jewelry Gallery, a local showstopping jewelry boutique.

Ghost and trolley tour operators, authors and restaurants are also frequently featured in the Local Lobby. Savannah Lodging has a helpful Local Lobby schedule, so you can see which business will be featured during your stay.

When you stay at a Savannah Lodging property, you get more than just a hotel room. Both the Holiday Inn Express - Savannah Historic District and the Hampton Inn Savannah - Historic District offer top-notch amenities, rooftop swimming pools and the Local Lobby program. Both properties are located within walking distance to popular Savannah attractions such as River Street, City Market and many of Savannah’s squares
