The ELLA Foundation and Savannah State University will host a moderated discussion on mental health issues and barriers in African-American communities. Part of The ELLA Foundations ongoing Lets Talk Community Discussion Series, the town hall-style discussion featuring students and community members will be moderated by Kesha Gibson-Carter and will feature the following panelists:
Beverly Jenkins-Aikens, LPC - Minister and counselor
Kimberly Gunn - Mental health advocate, recording artist and founder of The Love & Soul Experience
Robert R. Jordan - Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools educator and founder of M.A.L.E Dreamers mentorship program
The interactive Lets Talk series was created in the aftermath of the Parkland School shooting and is designed to encourage audience participation. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged.
