Discover the hidden wonders of the maritime forest during a guided hike with educators that will include interactive games and scavengers hunts. Before looking for animals in their natural habitat, visitors can enjoy a live reptile demonstration at the UGA Aquarium and interact with snakes and turtles that serve as ambassador animals for education and conservation. The hike is approximately one-third of a mile. Comfortable walking shoes and reusable water bottles are recommended. Children ages 5 and above are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
Pre-registration is encouraged to guarantee your spot. To register, fill out this form. Online registration will close at 4 p.m. the day before the program. For day-of payment, please arrive 15 minutes early and bring cash or check. We do not accept credit cards.
Every Tuesday in June and July visitors can explore coastal habitats and learn about native wildlife during hands-on, feet-in field trips at the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island. For information about additional field trips being offered, click here: https://gacoast.uga.edu/events/
