Get a Taste of Savannah's Spirits at Ghost Coast Distillery
In This Article
Ghost Coast Distillery is Savannah’s first legal distillery since Prohibition. At this incredible production house, you can tour the facilities, get a behind-the-scenes look at how craft spirits are made, learn about Savannah’s spirited past and, of course, get a taste of the award-winning libations Ghost Coast Distillery produces.
When you take a tour at Ghost Coast Distillery (which, by the way, is free), you get more than just a quick lesson in distilling. The first stop on the tour is Ghost Coast’s gorgeous production space where tour goers sit back, relax and watch a short film about Savannah’s fascinating Prohibition Era.
Next, knowledgeable guides lead you to the distillery where they give you the full scoop on Ghost Coast’s process, facility equipment, product recipes and more. Tour guides will give you the play-by-play on how Ghost Coast’s products are made, explain how the distillery’s equipment works and share funny anecdotes in between.
You’ll also step inside Ghost Coast Distillery’s barrel room, an enormous warehouse filled from wall to wall with barrels housing whiskey aging to perfection.
The tour ends at the Cocktail Room, where you get to sample, sip and taste cocktails made with Ghost Coast’s final products. Mixologist Sidney Lance has concocted an impressive list of hand-crafted cocktails made exclusively with Ghost Coast products. Inside of the Cocktail Room, you’ll be able to sample small batch spirits and liqueurs that aren’t available anywhere else.
Ghost Coast Distillery is known for their vodka and whiskey, and many of Savannah’s bars and restaurants proudly serve Ghost Coast products. Their most popular product, Vodka 261, is made from corn and wheat, and it’s multi-distilled and triple filtered for smoothness. This vodka made Ghost Coast Distillery a household name for cocktail connoisseurs, bartenders and distillers throughout the South.
In addition to their standard products, they’ve recently produced a selection of brand name liqueurs, like Cointreau, Curacao and Fernet. Cocktails served at Ghost Coast’s tasting room are made entirely with spirits and liqueurs made at the distillery! Even better – you can buy any of Ghost Coast’s spirits at their in-house gift shop and have a Savannah-themed happy hour at your home.
Ghost Coast Distillery definitely knows how to have a good time, and their event calendar is jam-packed with events like live music, onsite food truck, craft cocktail classes, costume parties and so much more.
