SAVANNAH, GA – Savannah has been named No. 2 on Harper’s Bazaar Magazine’s list of the “10 Best Summer Vacation Hotspots that will Save You Money This Year” and Southern Living Magazine’s No. 2 “South’s Best City.”

One of the oldest and most respected national magazines in the country, Harper’s Bazaar touts Savannah as a “walkable city with an abundance of historic charms” and a particularly affordable price point during the summer months. The article suggests visitors take advantage of unique touring opportunities like Architectural Tours of Savannah and the city’s burgeoning craft beer scene. Savannah was listed among noted international destinations including Cannes and Venice.

Savannah was also honored with a ranking on Southern Living’s 2017 “South’s Best Cities” list, and Tybee Island was included on the list of the “South’s Best Islands.” The “South’s Best” awards were determined by reader polls conducted in late 2016.  President of Visit Savannah Joseph Marinelli says the community is especially honored to be included on a reader-selected list.

"Being ranked so high by Southern Living Magazine’s readership tells the world that we have what today's distinguished traveler is looking for,” says Marinelli. “From the beautiful preservation effort in our National Historic Landmark District to our current array of lodging options, fine restaurants and unique shops, tours and attractions, we indeed have what folks are looking for!"

Other Savannah destinations honored by Southern Living’s “South’s Best” 2017 rankings are The Grey (No. 2, “South’s Best Restaurant”), The Mansion on Forsyth Park (No. 6, “South’s Best Hotel”), The Foley House (No. 1, “South’s Best Inn”), The Paris Market (No. 1, “South’s Best Shops”) and Shop SCAD (No. 4, “South’s Best Shops”).
