Savannah Named a 2018 “Best Midsized City for Business Meetings”

RewardExpert.com recently named Savannah the No. 1 Midsized City for Business Meetings in the South Atlantic region, touting it as the “most affordable midsize city in this region.”

The website reports that Savannah’s low cost of living, 14 percent below the national average, makes it an affordable destination. The city was also selected for its well-preserved historical heritage and laid-back Southern lifestyle.

The website categorized 30 cities by geographic region and ranked them based on affordability, climate, commute, business atmosphere, events, quality of accommodations and safety. Most of the high-ranking cities are close enough to major cities to make them easily accessible to meeting attendees coming from far afield. Savannah is one of the few top cities with ample airlift service of its own, servicing nearly 30 major destinations non-stop on 8 airlines daily.

“The popularity of Savannah as a leisure destination is now carrying over nicely for us in terms of attracting future conventions, meetings and trade shows,” says Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli. “Locally, a designation like this helps to boost business levels for area businesses, restaurants, tour companies and attractions, while increasing traffic on all of the new flights coming in and out of town.”
