In 2017, Susan Laney opened Laney Contemporary to provide a platform for emerging and established artists, steadily advancing the landscape of contemporary art in the Southeast. In January 2020, the gallery became a member of the prestigious NADA (New Art Dealers Alliance), making it one of only three members in the state of Georgia.
Located just west of Savannah’s historic district, Laney Contemporary is housed in a historical Lee J. Meyer building with 6,000 square feet of gallery space, where a dynamic selection of solo and themed exhibitions by regional and international artists are featured, including Katherine Sandoz, Betsy Cain, Todd Schroeder, Will Penny, Craig Drennen, Lisa M. Robinson, Pamela Wiley, Benjamin Jones, Ansley West Rivers, Jiha Moon and Marcus Kenney, among others. The gallery also represents the work of esteemed photographer Jack Leigh.
Laney Contemporary is situated on a sprawling lawn surrounded by acres of woods, presenting a picturesque site for openings and galas, as well as a variety of public events such as outdoor screenings, artist talks and culinary gatherings.
