We are Unitarian Universalists and work together to be a beacon of liberal religion in Savannah. This means we are bound together in faith by covenant rather than creed. This means we open ourselves to different sources of knowing about what is most important and true in this world. This means we work to actively live into the promise of common human worth and dignity. Most of all, it means that we welcome you to become part of our community, no matter who you are and where you’re coming from.
Set on one of Savannah’s truly picturesque historic squares, filled with glorious oak trees festooned with Spanish moss, and surrounded by elegant period homes, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah is proud to offer our beautifully restored sanctuary as the perfect setting for your wedding or commitment ceremony. Our sanctuary is climate-controlled and comfortable in all seasons. The sanctuary will seat about 175 people. There are eight rows of pews with a center aisle. The two front pews are half-size and are usually reserved for parents, family members or other special guests. The wonderful acoustical quality of the sanctuary will enhance the musical pieces included in your ceremony. The balcony is available for use by photographers, videographers, and musicians. The ceremony is usually conducted in the raised apse to allow for convenient viewing by all guests. Separate arrangements may be made regarding music. We believe that providing non-members the opportunity to be married within the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah and within the Unitarian Universalist tradition is an important part of our ministry. We marry opposite-sex and same-sex couples. We welcome you to our Church.
