You’d never guess that military-inspired Service Brewing began with an at-home brewing kit. In a few short years, owners Meredith Sutton and Kevin Ryan found a passion for beer that turned into one of Savannah’s most established breweries. In 2016, the brewery was recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama for their entrepreneurial and service-related endeavors.
Get on island time at Molly McGuire’s, located on Wilmington Island. Molly’s is a favorite hangout for locals living on Savannah’s surrounding islands. Wash down their infamous fried chicken with a selection from their extensive beer menu.
Southbound Brewing Co.
If you love IPAs and sours, Southbound Brewing Co. is the brewery for you. With trivia nights, yoga classes and comedy shows, this brewery is packed with awesome events and activities. Even if you don’t drink beer, you’ll never be bored at this brewery.
What goes great with cold beer? Live music! That’s why you should head to Barrelhouse South when you’re looking to rock out with your libation. The bar regularly hosts bands and DJs and keeps taps rotating with a variety of beers. The downstairs level also features pool tables, shuffleboard and darts.
The Alida Hotel got its namesake from one of Savannah’s earliest female preservationists, Alida Harper Fowlkes. The hotel partnered with Service Brewing to create “The Alida,” a deliciously refreshing ale exclusive to the hotel. It’s only available at the hotel’s on-site bars, which are also open to the public!
Moon River Brewing Company
Moon River Brewing has quite the reputation – it’s one of the most haunted places in America! Come for the beer and stay for the spirits in this centrally-located downtown brewery. They also have a full-service dining menu and a dog-friendly beer garden that stays open year-round.
American Legion Post 135
